COOLY – A Swiss Sports Icon
Originally created by RWDesign for the 2009 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, Cooly the cow quickly became a beloved mascot and symbol of Swiss sporting spirit—embodying humour, athleticism, and tradition.
Chosen through a fan contest, Cooly went on to represent the 2014 European Athletics Championships in Zurich and served as mascot for Weltklasse Zürich until 2017. Although his 2020 return was cancelled due to the pandemic, he’ll be back to celebrate with fans at the 2026 IIHF World Championship in Switzerland.
From dancing in stadiums to taking on hurdles, Cooly entertains crowds with energy and charm—earning international praise, including from the BBC, who asked:
“Is Cooly Cow the best mascot ever?
