2024 IIHF ICE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IA / BOLZANO / ITALY

In our design approach, the central star serves as both a representation of the city of Bolzano and a visual embodiment of the event’s motto “Together we reach for the stars.” Graphically reduced, it is positioned on a stylized puck, creating a strong yet minimalistic focal point. Inspired by Italy’s diverse landscapes—most notably the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site—we integrated abstract mountainous contours into the logo, paying homage to the region’s natural beauty. Bolzano, situated at the foot of the striking Sciliar Massif, provides a geographical and conceptual anchor for this design element. The puck is not merely a static shape; it also functions as a dynamic face-off spot. Divided into segments by the star and incorporating the Italian flag, it establishes a structural foundation that unifies and strengthens the entire visual identity.
